Female Support Worker £15.00 – £15.50 per hour | Driver Essential (Full clean UK licence, 21+ for insurance purposes)

Shift Patterns: 10.30am – 4.30pm – Weekend working required

Hours: 12hrs per week

Location: Cambridge, CB25

Meet Our Client

You will be supporting a man in his adult years who lives independently and has a rich life history and wide range of interests. He enjoys sharing stories from his travels, keeping up to date with current affairs and politics, listening to music, watching sport and enjoying good food. He also has a great sense of humour and enjoys making people laugh. He has a brain injury which affects his mobility, speech and memory. He can communicate verbally but speech may be quiet and unclear at times, so patience and strong communication skills are essential. Your role will focus on supporting him to maintain independence, structure and wellbeing, while encouraging engagement in the things he enjoys.

About the Role

  • Providing 1:1 support with daily routines and activities
  • Supporting communication and promoting understanding
  • Supporting with meal preparation and household tasks
  • Supporting with maintaining routine and daily structure
  • Assisting with finances where appropriate
  • Providing companionship and encouraging social engagement

About You

  • Full clean UK driving licence (21+ required for insurance purposes)
  • Eligibility to Work in the UK: You must be eligible to work in the UK. Home Care Direct does not offer sponsorship or work visas
  • Calm, observant and responsive
  • Care experience preferred
  • Confident supporting someone with cognitive and physical needs
  • Committed to providing safe, respectful and consistent support
  • Excellent communication skills and patience when supporting speech difficulties
