The Role
As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll be part of our client’s dedicated support team, providing essential care in their home. You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client.
The hours of work will be 8am to 8pm and will be on a 2-week rolling rota: week one 2 shifts, week two 3 shifts, which will work out at 30 hours per week. Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the client.
About the Client & Your Responsibilities
Our client is a young lady in her 20s who has cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and epilepsy and requires 24/7 support at home and out in the community to help her live her life to the fullest.
Her favourite activity is going to arcades and playing on 2p machines. She also enjoys watching television, with Tweenies as her favourite programme.
Training & Support
We provide comprehensive, paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date, covering:
- Full induction
- Personal Care / Moving & Handling / Medication Administration
- Autism / Challenging Behaviours
- Cerebral Palsy / Epilepsy
All training must be completed prior to start date and is paid at minimum wage.
Driver with a full UK licence is essential
An understanding of learning disabilities, cerebral palsy and epilepsy is essential, having experience would be an advantage
Previous experience with oxygen therapy is desirable
