Homebound is a fast-paced furniture rental company, which specialises in creating impactful staging to sell real estate, as well as for homes. We’re looking for an experienced interior designer or stager to join our growing team and take on the key role of managing staging projects while ensuring the continued high standard of design execution.
The Senior Interior Designer will be client-facing, responsible for the design and execution of staging projects. This person will be successful at pitching for staging projects and help maintain relationships with referrers and clients using their design expertise and experience. They will have an understanding of the London luxury and Prime Property market and be confident presenting design and/or staging proposals. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in staging/interior design, project management, and sales. You will be entrusted with the autonomy to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing the need for excellent design with the demand for business growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Client Engagement & Business Development: Work directly with clients and the sales team to provide compelling quotations and win business, offering expert guidance. Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and repeat business. Represent the company in client-facing situations, from initial discussions through to final project delivery.
- Project Management: Lead the design and execution of staging projects, managing timelines, resources, and budgets. Coordinate with internal teams (sales, logistics, installation crew) to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards. Oversee the logistics and smooth execution of staging projects from concept to installation.
- Reporting: Track project progress and report regularly to the Design Director on budgets and overall project status.
- Staging Expertise: Strong background in interior staging with experience in staging or similar design-based company. Strong understanding of design principles, space planning, and staging techniques for residential properties.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing client expectations, short deadlines, and resources. Organisational skills and the ability to problem-solve under pressure.
- Client-Facing Experience: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with clients. Confidence in presenting mood boards and space plans addressing needs and concerns.
- CAD & Design Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) and other design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). Ability to translate design concepts into accurate plans and visuals for client approval and execution.
- Industry Knowledge: Established industry contacts and knowledge of the staging market. Strong reputation or network of referrers in the real estate or design industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in staging or design management.
- Previous experience in business development or sales within the design/staging industry.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve design challenges and contribute to business growth.
