Can you help a small team make a big difference? We’re a grassroots organisation supporting people seeking asylum with no recourse to public funds. We need a reliable Volunteer Bookkeeper to help reconcile accounts, organise receipts and support simple finance reporting using Excel. This role will take pressure off a small team who are currently juggling finance alongside frontline work. By supporting with bookkeeping, it will free up valuable time to focus on meeting people, building relationships and strengthening the organisation. This will help us work more safely, stay organised and make sure we are using our funds in the best way to support people.
What are we looking for?

About Us
Home4U Cardiff supports people seeking asylum who have no recourse to public funds (NRPF). We work with people who have fallen through the gaps, often because of a break in their claim and are left with no support at all. Many people we support are facing total destitution, with no safe place to stay and no access to basic essentials. We offer a place to breathe, a moment of safety, and time to think about what comes next. We support people to decide their own pathway forward, whatever that looks like for them. At our core, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to stay, access to basic essentials, and to be treated with dignity and respect.
Role purpose
We need a reliable volunteer to help us keep our finances organised and accurate, so we can support people in a safe and responsible way.
What you’ll do
- Reconcile our bank account and expense cards using Excel spreadsheets
- Keep our financial records up to date in Excel and SharePoint
- Help organise and store receipts and financial documents
- Gently help chase missing receipts or information
- Support with simple finance reports for the team
- Support basic budgeting
- Flag anything unusual or unclear
