About Home-Start UK
Home-Start is a federated charity consisting of a central national office – Home-Start UK - and over 170 geographically dispersed local Home-Start organisations, all working together under the same identity. We recognise that being a parent has never been easy. Every Home-Start volunteer is trained to work alongside parents to overcome the challenges they are facing. We work with parents to build on their strengths and give them the support that they tell us they need. We offer no judgement – just compassionate, confidential help and expert support. This peer-to-peer support is key to the difference Home-Start makes and often our volunteers have lived experience of the challenges their families are facing themselves.
About The Role
Head of Learning and Engagement is an exciting new leadership role for Home-Start UK at a critical time as we work with our network, partners and supporters to develop the new federation-wide strategy ready to launch next year. Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop, deliver and embed a high-quality learning and development offer that contributes to a thriving, skilled and motivated workforce across our federation.
- Champion engagement by strengthening network listening mechanisms, analysing engagement insights, and helping us understand what support local Home-Start teams need.
- Lead our talented Learning and Engagement Team and, as a member of Home-Start UK’s Leadership Team, promote collaboration and cross-team working across the organisation.
- Work closely with staff and volunteers in our federation, co‑designing support to best meet local needs and evolving trends.
In this highly collaborative role, you will put learning and continuous improvement at the heart of what we do at Home-Start UK – from working with the Quality and Practice Teams to design new training pathways to collaborating with subject‑matter experts to generate engaging online content and supporting Leadership Team colleagues to test and scale new ways of collecting, analysing and using network voice to inform decision‑making. Ultimately, your efforts will ensure that our movement can reach and support more families with babies and children facing their toughest times.
If this sounds like your kind of opportunity, then we want to hear from you!
