Home‑Start Oxford is looking for a dynamic and motivated Fundraising and Events Officer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to use their creativity, relationship‑building skills and enthusiasm to help change the lives of young children and their families. As part of our small but highly successful fundraising team, you will play a key role in sustaining and growing our vital service. You will work across a range of income streams, with a particular focus on events, community fundraising, trusts and foundations and individual giving. You’ll bring fresh ideas, excellent organisational skills and the confidence to build strong relationships with supporters, partners and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out key fundraising activity across all income streams including challenges/events, community fundraising, trusts and foundations, and individual/regular giving.
  • Coordinate our challenge and events fundraising programme (which currently includes the Oxford Half and London Marathon), including recruiting participants, managing event logistics and supporting fundraisers to reach their income targets.
  • Support local community fundraising initiatives including creating and developing fundraising materials.
  • Identify and submit applications to small trusts and foundations and local grant‑makers.
  • Provide excellent stewardship and donor communications in person and through written communications, including using social media, group communications and updates on our website, to build and maintain long‑term support.
  • Support effective fundraising reporting through accurate data, testimonials and use of our customer relationship management database.
  • Provide support to the Development Managers and the overall work of the charity.
