THE ROLE
This is a dual role and we want to be honest about that from the start. You’ll lead a talented team of staff and volunteers delivering high-quality family support across two geographies— including island delivery on Mull. And you’ll lead our financial future— building the commissioner relationships, securing the funding and developing the income streams that make this service sustainable for the long term. The national policy environment— The Promise, Plan 24-30, the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund— is genuinely favourable for an organisation like ours. The opportunity to position Home-Start Lorn as a commissioned partner within Argyll and Bute HSCP’s revised Children’s Plan is real and within reach. You’ll be the person who makes that happen.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll bring a track record of securing significant income— trust fundraising, statutory commissioning, or both. You’ll know Scotland’s children and families policy landscape well. You’ll be a credible, compassionate leader who can develop a team, hold safeguarding at the centre of everything, and represent us confidently with commissioners and funders— while staying genuinely connected to the families and communities we serve. Experience in the third sector, statutory children’s services or health is equally welcome. A formal qualification is desirable but not essential— we’ll weigh relevant experience and demonstrable competence just as highly.
THE DETAIL
Based at our Family Centre, Stevenson Street, Oban— with regular travel to Mull. Full time, 35 hours per week. Subject to PVG Disclosure Scotland check.
