Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference to families in your local community? As a Trustee you will be part of a team responsible for the strategic development of the charity, ensuring sound governance and maintaining our strong relationships with our funders, supporters and the local community. We will provide a full induction and training for new Trustees.
Using your IT and digital expertise you will ensure our digital strategy aligns with our overall vision and mission, allowing us to optimise our use of technology, and that our systems and processes remain compliant and secure as the digital and AI world develops at pace around us. Trustees are critical to the strategic development of the charity, and you will be required to attend regular meetings approximately once every two months and be able to devote some time outside those meetings, using your skills to support the charity in delivering its vision.

What are we looking for?
As IT and Digital Trustee, you will need a good foundation of skills. Your knowledge and expertise will span a range of areas including:
- Ensuring the right digital solutions for a charity of our size.
- Ensuring we remain up to date and compliant with appropriate technology, having responsibility for cyber‑security.
- Identifying risks and appropriate mitigations to keep our data safe and protect our clients, staff, volunteers and funders.
- Ensuring GDPR compliance and being our key point of contact in the event of an actual or suspected breach.
- Providing training for staff, volunteers and trustees (as appropriate to their role) to ensure they understand their responsibilities and can access the digital information they need to work effectively.

Positive early experiences make a huge difference to a child’s life and family life is becoming more complex and challenging. Home-Start Bracknell Forest aims to help families with young children by providing non‑judgemental personal support for parents in their homes and in group activities. As a charity we need committed and talented Trustees to help us manage and shape the charity’s services.
