  • About Home of Mortgages

Home of Mortgages is a specialist mortgage and protection brokerage with one founding belief: everyone deserves expert advice.

We serve clients with complex needs — self-employed applicants, non-standard income, clients with adverse credit, portfolio landlords, and more.

We guide our clients every step of the way, from first enquiry to getting their keys.

We are on a genuine growth journey which will see our business double in the next two years.

We are building a business we can be proud of and we want a Sales Manager who is excited to be part of that story, not just someone looking for their next job.

That starts with living and breathing our core values

  • We Find a Way

No matter how complex the situation, we look for solutions. We don't give up on our clients or our colleagues.

  • We Learn and Share

We grow together. Knowledge is shared openly and we are always looking to improve, individually and as a team.

  • We Love to Chat

Relationships are everything. We communicate openly, warmly and honestly with clients and with each other.

  • We Are Easy to Work With

We make things simple. For our clients, our partners and the people who work alongside us.

The Role

This is not a traditional Sales Manager position.

Yes, you will own the numbers and hold the team accountable, but what we really need is someone who makes people want to perform.

Someone who walks into a room and raises the energy.

Someone who understands that inspired advisors deliver better outcomes for clients, and that culture and commercial results go hand in hand.

You will take day-to-day ownership of the advisor team, freeing the CEO to focus on strategic growth and networking to the benefit of the business.

That means you will have real autonomy to lead and to bring your own ideas on how we get the best from our people.

You will report to Ella Sawyer (Integrator/Operations) who is accountable for our business plan.

  • What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Inspiring the Team
  • Lead weekly and monthly team meetings that people actually look forward to; energetic, purposeful and focused on bringing advisors together around a shared goal
  • Create a team culture where advisors feel motivated, supported and proud to work at Home of Mortgages
  • Bring fresh ideas on how to engage the team, celebrate wins, and keep everyone bought into where we are going
  • Be the person who spots when someone is struggling and knows how to bring them back, through coaching, conversation and genuine care
  • Carry the story of Home of Mortgages with you, articulating our mission, values and direction in a way that resonates with the team day to day
  • Driving Sales Performance
  • Own the revenue target across the advisor team and take accountability for hitting monthly and quarterly goals
  • Monitor individual advisor performance, pipeline activity, conversion rates and productivity, and act quickly when things need attention
  • Work with each advisor to set meaningful personal targets and development goals, reviewing regularly
  • Ensure protection advice is offered to every client and drive the team toward the 50% protection conversion target
  • Identify where revenue opportunities are being missed and work with the team to plug those gaps
  • Advisor Recruitment
  • Lead the recruitment of new mortgage advisors who align with our values, culture and growth ambitions
  • Build a pipeline of advisor talent with specialist expertise across complex residential, buy to let, self-employed and other niches
  • Manage onboarding so that new advisors integrate quickly, feel part of the team from day one and hit the ground running
  • Support the business in reaching its target of nine advisors by the end of 2026 and building toward twelve
  • Proactively identify and sign up new estate agency introducers, building a steady pipeline of new partners rather than waiting for them to come to us
  • Own and manage relationships with estate agency introducers once they're signed up, acting as their main point of contact and ensuring they have a positive experience of working with Home of Mortgages
  • Support our growth with independent estate agents using Street, helping build toward our goal of becoming their preferred partner and number one choice for referrals
  • Make sure every new introducer gets a timely, personal welcome and a clear picture of how the relationship will work
  • Track introducer activity and referral volumes, flagging relationships that are cooling off or need reinvestment
  • Work with the advisor team to make sure introducer leads are actioned quickly and given the same standard of service as any other client
  • Feed introducer numbers and relationship health back into the Sales Scorecard and EOS reporting
  • Sales Process & Compliance
  • Ensure the team operates consistently within our proven client journey from first enquiry to collecting their keys
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline within Grateful so that pipeline data is accurate and up to date
  • Work with Operations to identify and address any process gaps that are slowing the team down or creating risk
  • Oversee complaints and conduct standards across the advisor team, escalating where necessary
  • Own the Sales Scorecard within our EOS framework, reporting against weekly measurables to the leadership team
  • Contribute actively to quarterly rocks and Level 10 meetings
  • Keep the CEO informed with clear, honest performance updates, the good and the not-so-good

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience managing or leading a mortgage advisor team, with a strong understanding of the advice process
  • A natural leader and communicator who knows how to get the best from people without relying on authority alone
  • Someone who genuinely loves building team culture and comes with ideas on how to do it
  • Solid knowledge of the UK mortgage market, including complex or specialist lending
  • A track record of hitting revenue targets and holding a team accountable in a fair, structured way
  • Experience working within a regulated financial services environment
  • Ce MAP qualified (or equivalent); you need to understand what your advisors are doing and be credible in front of them
  • Experience in protection sales alongside mortgage advice
  • An existing network of mortgage advisor talent or industry contacts
  • Experience with CRM platforms and a genuine belief in good data hygiene
  • An understanding of Estate Agency Financial Services
  • Familiarity with EOS or a similar business operating framework

Honestly, This Role Is For You If...

  • You light up when you talk about your team doing well, not just your own results
  • You have strong opinions about what a great sales meeting looks and feels like
  • You find it energising to help someone work through a difficult case or a tough week
  • You want to be part of building something, not just maintain what already exists
  • You align with our values without having to think too hard about it
  • Our Culture

We are a people-first business.

The advice we give is only as good as the people giving it, and we work hard to make sure our team feel valued, developed and part of something worth being part of.

We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) which gives us clear accountability, structured meetings, well-defined priorities and a culture of honest, direct communication.

It is not corporate, it is practical.

We know what we are building, and we are doing it with intention.

If you want autonomy, a leadership team that will back you and a business where the culture genuinely matches the values on the wall, come and have a conversation with us.
