Network Cable and Equipment Installer (Domestic)

Subcontractors Required for Network Cable and Equipment Installations (Maidenhead & Surrounding Areas) Home Network Solutions, a specialist in Domestic and Commercial Networks, CCTV, AV, and Smart Home Installations, is seeking subcontractors to assist with network cable and equipment installations in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas. We require subcontractors for 1-2 day projects on a flexible basis, with work scheduled around your availability. Bonuses will be offered for completing work on time and to a high quality. Role Overview: The primary responsibilities will include network cable and equipment installations, along with WiFi, CCTV, and other network-based systems. All equipment will be pre-configured before deployment, so only a basic understanding of networking is required. However, a strong knowledge of cable installation and terminations for network cabling is essential. Initially, the role will involve assisting on large projects, with the potential to move into independent projects where you will take on the role of onsite lead, either solo or as part of a small team. Requirements: You must provide your own vehicle and tools, including ladders, network-specific tools, specialist tools, and testing equipment (some equipment may be provided). 3-5 years of experience in cable installations within domestic environments. This does not need to be specific to network cabling, but you must have a solid understanding of cable installations carried out to a high standard in finished properties. Experience in terminating network cables, including keystones, patch panels, and RJ45 sockets. At least a basic understanding of networking principles. Experience with Ubiquiti Unifi equipment and CCTV is preferred. An up-to-date CV. Two references from previous employers or customers. Examples of your work (ideally available on social media). Attention to detail, a commitment to high-quality work, strong customer service skills, and reliability. Ability to work unsupervised. Must be a sole trader or run a limited company.
