Our Newport branch supports areas like Newport, Cwmbran, Chepstow, and Caldicot, while our Pontypool branch proudly serves the beautiful Monmouthshire region, including Abergavenny, Usk, Monmouth, and Pontypool. Depending on your closest branch, your work areas will be tailored to suit you.

Minimum of 1 Hour Visits with your regular clients, so you have the time to build great relationships and you don't feel rushed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create a Positive Environment: Contribute to a warm and positive living environment that enhances our clients’ quality of life, making their days brighter and more fulfilling.
  • Keep Us Informed: Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client’s needs or living conditions, ensuring we provide the best care possible.
  • Stay Connected: Maintain regular communication with your line manager and office staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
Companionship Services (including, but not limited to):
  • Friendly Company: Offer companionship and engaging conversation to brighten your clients’ days.
  • Healthy Living: Monitor diet and eating habits to promote a balanced and nutritious lifestyle.
  • Fun Activities: Stimulate and encourage clients through a variety of activities, like selecting outfits, exploring hobbies, and crafting.
  • Gentle Reminders: Arrange and provide gentle reminders for appointments, activities, and outings to keep things on track.
  • Travel Buddy: Help with travel arrangements and accompany clients to appointments and social events, like visiting friends or attending club meetings.
  • Organize and Assist: Organize mail, write letters, assist with walking (lending a steady arm), and help clients stay connected and active.
Home Help Services (including, but not limited to):
  • Run Errands: Run errands, collect prescriptions, and help with daily tasks.
  • Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks, like dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, washing and ironing, taking out rubbish, and caring for houseplants.
  • Keep Things Tidy: Organize and tidy cupboards, check food expiry dates, and ensure everything is neat and orderly.

If you are new to care or have experience as a Care Professional/HCA Support Worker, we would love to hear from you! If you don’t have experience, that is not a problem. We provide full training and encourage candidates from all different backgrounds to apply. Home Instead offers training with our in-house Learning & development team to gain NVQs in Health & Social Care and other career path development & support.

We require all candidates to have a full UK Driving license and access to a vehicle. (Generous Mileage Allowance with this role & travel time)
