We are looking for people with kind, compassionate hearts who want to make a true difference to the quality of life for our clients to join our team in West Leicestershire as a Live In Care Professional. As a Live-In Care Professional, you will live in a client's home and provide a variety of non-medical services to help them keep independent in their own home. This placement specifically requires a Gujarati speaking candidate.
Some of the main duties will include:
- Personal care - continence support, washing and dressing
- Medication
- Meal preparation
- Home help - cleaning and ensuring general upkeep of house
- Companionship - supporting with overall wellbeing
Care professionals will have their own bedroom within the client’s property. The ideal schedule/working pattern will be two weeks on and two weeks off.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience of working in Care
- Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
- Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
- Ability to listen, communicate clearly and build relationships with clients and their families in a friendly and pleasant manner
- Willingness to work and communicate professionally with Home Instead office teams and other social and health care professionals
- Respect for people suffering from a range of medical conditions with different backgrounds and beliefs to your own
- Commitment to non-discriminatory care practice
- Willing to seek guidance when needed and follow instructions
- Excellent time keeper who is organised and reliable
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and make common sense decisions at short notice
- Good hygiene practice, including personal hygiene and a smart appearance
This role will require you to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure from the relevant body and Class 1 business insurance (if using own car for business purposes).
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Being a driver is not essential but would be beneficial
- All training and support is provided
- Some experience of care would be a benefit
- Experience of working with those with dementia would be an advantage
