We are seeking a dedicated carer to work waking night shifts from 21:00 to 09:00 in Kettering. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to our client who has multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and requires support with a CPAP machine, stoma, and catheter.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain a vigilant presence throughout the night shift, ensuring the client's safety and comfort at all times.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor the client's condition, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist with the proper use and maintenance of the CPAP machine, ensuring optimal functionality and hygiene.
- Provide skilled care for the client's stoma and catheter, including cleaning, changing, and monitoring for any signs of infection or complications.
- Assist with personal care tasks, such as toileting, bathing, and changing positions, while maintaining the client's dignity and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all care provided, medications administered, and any notable events during the shift.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies that may arise, following established protocols and contacting emergency services if necessary.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for the client, including regular tidying and sanitisation of the care area.
- Communicate effectively with day shift carers to ensure continuity of care and seamless handover of information.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and enhance skills relevant to the client's specific needs.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and care plans to ensure the highest standard of care is consistently delivered.
