Your role will be varied and centred entirely around the needs and personality of your clients. During evening and weekend visits, this typically includes:
- Evening routines: Supporting clients to wind down at the end of the day, including preparing evening meals, assisting with medication reminders and helping with bedtime routines (dressing and personal care) with dignity and respect.
- Companionship: Combatting evening or weekend loneliness by sharing hobbies, watching a favourite show together, or simply providing a friendly face.
- Weekend activities: Helping clients stay active in their community, whether it's a trip to a local garden centre, attending a group or visiting family and friends.
- Home support: Assisting with light housekeeping and ensuring the home is safe and comfortable for the night or day ahead.
- Independence advocacy: Encouraging clients to continue doing things they love, maintaining their independence in the home they cherish.
