The Role: Live-in Carer & Companion

We are looking for an experienced and empathetic Live-in Carer & Companion to provide comprehensive support for a client near Southampton. This is a special opportunity to deliver personalised companionship and personal assistance within a luxurious home environment. The placement is for a fixed term of 3 to 6 months, offering a stable and rewarding experience where you will truly become an integral part of our client's daily life.

Your primary focus will be on building a strong, trusting relationship, offering companionship, and providing practical support tailored to the client's needs. This includes assisting with daily routines, facilitating appointments, and ensuring the client enjoys a rich and fulfilling lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere within the client's home.
  • Manage household tasks including light cleaning, laundry, and preparing nutritious, appealing meals tailored to the client's preferences.
  • Accompany the client to appointments, utilising a provided car for all client-related travel near Southampton.
  • Support the client in pursuing hobbies, interests, and social activities to enhance their quality of life and engagement.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the client, their family, and the Home Instead management team, reporting any changes or concerns promptly.

Requirements

  • Previous demonstrable experience in a live-in care, companionship, or personal assistant role, with a strong track record of reliability.
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and building meaningful, respectful relationships.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, respect privacy, and uphold confidentiality at all times.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential, with confidence driving a provided vehicle for client appointments and outings.
  • A clear Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one) and satisfactory professional references.
