Overview
Temporary Maintenance Surveyor – Home Group. Hybrid role with work from home, our office in Leeds, and coverage across the Leeds and York area. Temporary fixed-term 3 months, full time (37.5 hpw). Salary £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on qualifications such as RICS and experience). We are unable to sponsor you for this role.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out pre- and post-inspections and managing a patch within the Leeds and York area, ensuring high-quality work and customer satisfaction.
- Providing technical advice and support to trades, maintenance managers, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and compliant service.
- Contract management including progress against building works schedules; using customer insight to support delivery of the customer promise.
- Managing disrepair cases and helping customers address damp and mould issues in their homes.
- Accurately measuring materials to enable a right-first-time approach.
- Ensuring void properties are completed to a high standard to enable timely re-letting.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educated to a minimum HNC/HND or equivalent qualification within a surveying or building-related field, with significant professional experience in surveying.
- Knowledge of damp and mould causes, with a relevant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience in diagnosing and scoping property conditions including disrepair and dilapidation surveys and remedial works.
- Ability to understand building pathology and diagnose complex works such as subsidence.
- Experience in managing contractors and ensuring delivery aligns with health and safety laws, including CDM requirements.
- Proactive and self-sufficient, able to manage your patch and deliver work commercially, on time, and within budget.

- Working Monday to Friday with a flexible diary around work, customers’ needs and personal commitments.
- Hybrid role: some days in the office and others working from home, plus site work across the Leeds/York area.
- Ability to use technology for updating records, budget and KPI management, online learning, and collaboration with colleagues.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be insured for business use; mileage is covered.
- Basic DBS check required and paid for by us.
