Job Description – Supported Housing Concierge (251294)
Location: Middlesbrough
Type: Permanent, Part-time (35 hours per week) working a 4 on, 4 off pattern
Pay: £12.60 per hour, Salary £24,638 per annum [pro rata], sleep-in payment, and great benefits including Health Cash Plan
About the Role
Calling all night owls! Prefer staying awake and working through the night rather than snoozing away like the rest of us? We’re looking for a dedicated night worker who won’t fall asleep on the job! If you’re as energised as a new Duracell bunny with the alert skills of a meerkat, this is the job for you!
We’re looking for new Supported Housing Concierges to join our growing teams. Here at Home Group, we look after our vulnerable customers, including those with complex care needs. Your role will be to ensure our customers are safe, our buildings are secure and pleasant, and that we maintain good relations with our neighbors.
Typical Shift
If you want a quiet and calm night security job, then this is not the job for you! There is more involved than just monitoring CCTV or patrolling the premises. You’ll be the first line of support for our customers when wider team support isn’t available.
You’ll manage health and safety, patrol to check fire doors, and ensure everything is locked and secure. You’ll need to think quickly and handle situations on the spot, such as investigating suspicious activity or raising the alarm when necessary. Additionally, you may help with maintaining cleanliness, so being comfortable with cleaning tasks is important.
What You Bring
- Calmness under pressure with excellent communication skills
- A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals, possibly with experience in public service or the military
- Good interpersonal skills and keen observation to notice behavioral changes
- Ability to intervene sensitively when needed
- A team player who can also work independently, with support from the wider team including out-of-hours emergency support
Note: Due to current sponsorship certificate limits, we cannot offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This is under regular review.
Our Team
You’ll join Sarah and the team at Single Key, passionate about delivering excellent service. Bring your unique skills and experience to make a real difference for our customers. Our team is diverse and supportive, helping you settle in and thrive.
Job Details
Working 4 nights on, 4 nights off on a rolling rota from 21:45 to 08:15. Regular training and team meetings will be scheduled. You should be comfortable using technology to monitor CCTV and update records. An Enhanced DBS check will be required, which we will pay for.
Our Values
We believe in creating a workplace where everyone can be themselves. Our diversity networks and support systems help us foster an inclusive environment. We’re committed to making Home Group a great place to work!
What’s In It For You?
- 34 days leave (including bank holidays and a \’me day\’), increasing to 39 days, plus time off for volunteering
- Health Cash Plan saving you up to £1,140 annually, covering dental, optical, prescriptions, and more
- Over 800 discounts on shopping, holidays, and days out
- Opportunities for career growth within the organization
- Supportive tools and initiatives to promote wellbeing
