Senior Asset Manager
Salary up to £67,500 per annum (depending on experience and location) plus benefits including Health Cash Plan.
Temporary for 12 months – Maternity Cover (37.5 hpw), full‑time (37.5 hpw).
Hybrid role – working from our office at Newcastle upon Tyne, from home and across our national property portfolio.
We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us in the role of Senior Asset Manager, leading the delivery of our Asset Management Strategy and Regional Asset Plans, ensuring our homes are safe, satisfying and sustainable for our customers, and delivering return so we can continue to reinvest back into our homes and communities.
You’ll work with an Asset Manager and be responsible for a regional portfolio, including houses, flats, blocks and estates, for both freehold and leasehold properties.
- What you’ll do
- Ensure our asset portfolios in each region perform against financial, operational, Health and Safety and customer satisfaction measures, working closely with the team to ensure successful delivery.
- Lead on all strategic asset matters including investment and divestment within the portfolio, providing a clear steer on interventions required to maintain strong performance.
- Use your expertise as a critical friend to our wider regional operational teams to ensure successful delivery of our asset plan.
- Produce regular reports, guiding decision‑making on asset performance, key risks and making recommendations to drive performance.
- Ensure a good commercial understanding of our assets through property‑level accounting and a close eye on expenditure to drive better outcomes.
Requirements
- Professional Membership of The Property Institute (MTPI) or equivalent.
- Previous property asset management experience across a range of residential tenures (rented and leasehold) and property types (flatted, housing and mixed use).
- Good knowledge and understanding of different interests in assets and land from a landlord/transferor or lessee/transferee perspective.
- Good understanding of property litigation, including interpreting, challenging and enforcing covenants and lease terms.
- Great communication and collaborative working ability to engage with customers on complex matters, instilling trust and confidence.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skill, able to work with customers, teams, peers and senior management effectively to deliver great outcomes.
- Previous line management experience with the ability to unleash the potential of others.
- Flexible hybrid working, based from our office at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, from home and across our national property portfolio.
- Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work; we’ll pay for your mileage.
