Home, a place where you belong. We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team as a Cook, where you’ll be responsible for the kitchen duties. You’ll be ordering all the food, menu planning and ensuring all health & safety regulations are in place. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring that all stock is recorded when received and expenditure records are maintained. You’ll plan and prepare all meals catering to our diverse customer group to ensure all meals suit a variety of dietary needs and cultures.

What You’ll Do

  • Overseeing the management of the kitchen as directed by the service manager.
  • Providing a food provision for adults over 55.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining adequate stocks of food.
  • Responsibility for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, pantries etc.
  • Maintain stock sheets and do stock checks as required.

You have

  • Previous experience in catering work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • An understanding of the principles of confidentiality.
  • Flexibility and ability to relate to vulnerable people with sensitivity.

The practical bits

  • 2 x 10 hours shifts per week on a rota basis.
  • Able to use technology for e-learning and paperwork uploads etc.
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
