This Home Group customer‑only apprenticeship is open to all ages and backgrounds, whether you’re starting out, changing direction, or returning to work.

About the role

As our People Development Apprentice, you’ll be a valued member of the team, learning by doing and supporting colleagues with meaningful, hands‑on work. No two days are the same, and you’ll be trusted with real responsibilities while being fully supported as you develop.

You’ll learn to:

  • Be a team player, delivering and supporting our colleagues to engage in People Development activities
  • Be confident in communicating with a range of different people
  • Face the challenges of balancing competing priorities and working to tight deadlines
  • Use your brilliant personality to impress our colleagues, stakeholders and external partners
  • Collaborate with the People Development Business Partners to deliver a seamless people development experience

What qualification will you gain?

Customer Service Assistant level 2 apprenticeship with possible progression onto a level 3. Your academic learning will be delivered by one of our specialist apprenticeship providers, with support from an experienced tutor and your team. You’ll be given dedicated time to attend learning sessions, complete your studies, and access learning materials alongside practical, on‑the‑job experience. You’ll combine structured study with hands‑on learning, building the skills and confidence to support your long‑term career.

We’re proud of our track record in supporting apprentices to progress and two of our apprentices have moved into permanent roles. This is more than a job, it’s a pathway into a career.

We’re looking for candidates who:

  • Are Home Group customers
  • Have achieved a level 1 in English and Mathematics, if you don’t already have this – this is built into your apprenticeship learning
  • Are IT confident, or at the very least have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office including Outlook
  • Are keen to learn and develop new skills, including both verbal and written communication
  • Share our values, want to make a difference and enjoy working with people and being part of a team
  • Are organised, curious and willing to ask questions.
