Salary circa £40,000 per annum depending on experience, plus a health cash plan saving you and your children over £1140 a year.
Temporary 6 months, full time (37.5 hpw). Hybrid working 2 days a week in the office in Newcastle upon Tyne, Leeds or Birmingham.
You'll play a key role in implementing data protection best practice across Home Group. Working closely with the Data Protection Manager, you'll support compliance delivery by advising colleagues on the lawful and responsible use of personal data. Through using your expertise, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference for our customers and colleagues. From consulting on new systems to handling data breaches and impact assessments, this is a hands-on role where your judgement, communication skills and attention to detail really matter.
What you'll do:
- Provide clear, practical data protection advice across services and projects.
- Lead on managing data breaches and supporting proportionate risk decisions.
- Complete and review Data Protection Impact Assessments with confidence.
- Support teams designing new systems and ways of working involving personal data.
- Spot compliance gaps and turn them into practical, workable improvements.

You have:
- A strong working knowledge of UK data protection law.
- Provable experience handling data subject rights, data breaches, and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Confidence explaining complex issues in clear, practical language, to all levels of the organisation.
- Sound judgement and can challenge constructively when needed.
- A data protection qualification or equivalent experience.

- Hybrid working, from home and two days a week from our office in Newcastle, Leeds or Birmingham City Centre.
- The Data Protection team are based around the country, so you will be asked to travel from time to time to meet with colleagues.
