Apprentice Payroll Administrator – Level 3

Newcastle Upon Tyne – hybrid working 2 days in our city centre office and from home

Fixed term 21 months (with progression into permanent opportunities available), Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary between £19,554 and £23,875 (dependent on age)

You’ll receive an accredited Payroll Administrator level 3qualification (which we’ll pay for) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

What you’ll do

Learning on the job gaining skills and experience to ensure data accuracy enabling effective responses to queries via email, chat and telephone, ensuring a customer focussed response. You’ll also benefit from the knowledge of those around you.

Spend at least 20% of your time working toward your industry recognised qualification with plenty of opportunity to put the theory into practice during your apprenticeship.

You’ll have a mentor within the team, who will offer guidance and support on the job, and work with an expert apprenticeship delivery partner to complete your learning.

Helping our team to manage the company payroll we run each month that ensure our colleagues get paid.

Process new starters, those leaving the business, and changes to job role for over 3700 colleagues every month!

Carrying out background administration for colleague benefits such as cycle to work scheme, smart tech vouchers, and pensions.

2 G.C.S.E grades 9-4 (A*- C); including English and Maths (or equivalent).

Brilliant verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work on your own initiative, as well as prioritise workloads and thrive under pressure.

Ability to deal with sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

A fantastic attitude with a keenness to learn and able to build brilliant team relationships.

Job details

You’ll be employed for a 21-month period and gain stacks of experience to launch your career, and – good news – many of our apprentices’ progress into permanent employment on completion of their apprenticeship.

You’ll work Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00 and 5:30

We offer flexibility, but sometimes you’ll need to adapt to meet customer or business needs.

We typically work on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week with the rest working from home. Our anchor days are Tuesday and Wednesday.
