Up to £32,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience, skills and qualifications, plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan.

Temporary (6 months contract), part time (30 hpw), hybrid working in Wigton, Cumbria.

Join us as a Housing Manager at Home Group, in our awesome housing team in Wigton. You’ll be our face to face customer support to our estates, ensuring we provide safe homes and communities where people choose to live, while also ensuring our income is maximised.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll look after a number of patches and neighbourhoods (ably supported by our Community Housing Assistants).
  • Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll really get to know our communities. This will help us to improve our local neighbourhoods.
  • Proactively managing anti-social behaviours in our estates, responding to customer queries and complaints.
  • Managing our voids process including liaising with local authorities.
  • Carry out estate inspections, engaging and meeting with contractors on site, as well as carrying out and recording the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.

You have:

  • Experience in the housing sector and understand housing management, housing law and ideally, universal credit too!
  • Willingness to work towards Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3.
  • Super organised and methodical in your approach, you’re also a proactive self-starter with a can-do positive attitude.
  • Resilience to handle challenges, especially when dealing with complaints.
  • Confidence in working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MPs etc.

The practical bits:

  • This is a hybrid role, and you’ll spend some days working from our community patches in the Wigton area.
  • Flexible working hours may be available; please discuss this during the interview.
  • We mainly work Monday to Friday and occasionally in the evenings to meet with customers.
  • You’ll be able to shape your own diary.
  • We’ll pay your mileage!
  • You’ll need a Standard DBS check done, and we pay for that.
  • 34 days leave (including bank holidays).
