We can't offer a CoS for this role.

We're looking for a Portfolio Manager who can bring clarity and confidence to our One Change Plan, helping leaders make the right decisions, at the right time, for the biggest impact.

This role sits at the heart of our organisation, as part of the Programme and Portfolio Management team. Working alongside the Heads of Portfolio and Programme Managers, you will bring clarity to priorities, align demand with capacity, and ensure our investment delivers real value for customers and colleagues.

What you'll do:

  • Own and evolve our change portfolio, from demand through to delivery.
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing clear insight on priorities, capacity, risks and benefits.
  • Ensure change is governed well, proportionately and effectively.
  • Connect the dots across programmes and projects, spotting dependencies and pinch points early.
  • Champion benefits realisation so we stay focused on outcomes, not activity.
  • Continuously improve how we manage portfolio performance and maturity.

Why join us:

You’ll work across the full portfolio, giving you visibility and influence few roles offer. Your insight will shape decisions at the highest level and improve how change happens across Home Group. Be part of one of the UK’s Great Places to Work!

You have:

  • Strong experience in portfolio management, PMO or enterprise change environments.
  • Confidence working with senior leaders and influencing portfolio decisions to keep us all on track.
  • Analytical thinking; you're comfortable with data, insight and storytelling.
  • A pragmatic, outcomes-focused mindset; structured, but never bureaucratic.
  • A values-led approach and a real commitment to doing work that makes a difference.

Stronger together:

We do our best work when we're ourselves. That's why inclusion, wellbeing, and our diversity networks help make Home Group a great place to work!

The practical bits:

You’ll work Monday to Friday. You’ll manage your own diary. We typically work on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week in our Newcastle office, with the rest from home.
