We have a brilliant opportunity for confident, positive, and open-minded people to join our Transforming Care team, helping our lovely customer live a fulfilling life in his own home within the local community. Our customer has Autistic Spectrum Disorder and is looking for a fun and energetic team who can also be calm and understanding.

You will work alongside him and support him in different physical activities. On a good day our customer likes to spend time in the garden, going out in the community on drives and walking. Our gentleman customer is non-verbal; however, understands a lot of the words/phrases used around him or communicated to him. When speaking to him, it is important to speak clearly and slowly as it can take time for him to process certain information.

Our customer communicates using Makaton and object of reference, he can understand most Makaton signs and use some Makaton signs. The most common sign used is the Makaton sign for yes and thank you. Our customers are able to pick up on body language easily. Our customer can also communicate using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). Our customers respond well to humour.
