We have a brilliant opportunity to join our fantastic supported accommodation services and colleagues in West Yorkshire. We are the multi-skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers. We work with amazing customers who have various support needs, across a mix of properties and grounds. As our handy person, you'll spend much of your time working across our West Yorkshire services including Kirklees and Bradford.
What you'll do:
- Perform minor or emergency repairs, decorating and cleaning in properties and communal areas.
- Handle tasks like hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touching up paint, changing washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns and clearing grounds.
- Carry out regular fire safety checks.
- Work with colleagues, contractors and customers.
- Liaise with Customer Service Centre and contractors to report and follow up on repairs outside your remit.

You have:
- A team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm.
- General maintenance know-how, a bit of carpentry, basic plumbing and confidence with a paintbrush or broom.
- Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life.
- Ability to use technology for receiving tasks, data input, reading reports and taking photographs.
- A vehicle for travel; we will provide you with a fleet vehicle!
The practical bits:
- We mainly work Monday-Friday, but we're flexible as long as we meet our customers' needs.
- You'll be based at Kirklees and travel around other properties in our West Yorkshire patch.
- Occasionally you'll head outside the patch for all hands-on deck situations.
- You’ll need a Standard DBS check, we pay for it.
