Were looking for new Social Housing Concierges to join our growing teams. Here at Home Group, we look after our vulnerable customers, but also those with quite complex care needs. Your job will be to make sure our customers are safe, our buildings are secure and pleasant places to be, and that we get on with our neighbours.
Our Central Resource Team supports our supported accommodations to cover staff annual leave, sickness or recruitment to ensure our customers always get the best possible service and support.
Typical shift as a Housing Concierge
- If you want a quiet and calm (night) security job, then this is not the job for you!
- There is so much more involved than just (night working), stuck in an office monitoring CCTV or patrolling the premises.
- The first line of support for our customers when our wider team or their own support network arent around to help!
- Youll manage the health and safety of the building, patrolling to check fire doors, making sure everything is locked and secure.
- Thinking on your feet and manage a situation on the spot, such as investigating suspicious activity or raising the alarm when we need to engage the emergency services.
- Finally, if there is time, youll also help us make sure that everything is clean and tidy, so you need to be ok with wielding the mop or broom as well!

- Youre sociable and interested in people and their stories and like getting to know people. You use your people insights and keen eye for detail to spot changes in behaviour.
- You recognise when things are about to go wrong and are confident intervening in a sensitive way.
- A team player with the confidence to work alone. Dont worry youll have the full back up of our wider team including our out of hours emergency support team.
- To get from A to B, youll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that well pay your mileage!

Our team
Youll join Yvonneon the central resource teamwhos worked for Home Group since 2014. Yvonne started as a Support Worker and took full advantage of all the training and experience we offer here at Home Group. Supporting her is our Client Service Manager for Yorkshire, Laura, who started out as a support coordinator within the Central Resource Team and is always available to support and answer any questions.
Job details
- Travel between our services across West Yorkshire including Huddersfield, Wakefield and Leeds.
- Working 4 nights in and 4 nights off rota between the hours of 8:30pm and 8:15am.
- Although youll work nights we do get together regularly [in the daytime] for training and team meetings.
- Able to use technology to monitor CCTV and update records
- Youll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
