In this role, you'll support customers to live independently, feel valued, and stay connected through practical, respectful care. As a Support Worker, you'll work with customers who have complex mental health needs and additional conditions such as learning disabilities, autism or neurological conditions. What you'll do:
- Creating person-centred action plans to help build structure and purpose.
- Support might include completing a budget plan or working through coping strategies with customers.
- Support a customer to access the community for activities such as a trip to the beach, cinema, or a picnic in the park.
- Help customers take their first steps towards independent living, including developing skills to maintain their tenancy, complete in-house learning, or explore volunteering and career opportunities.
- Receive full training and ongoing support to develop in your role.
- Recognise every customer is different and adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs.

You have:
- Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail.
- Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.
- The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
- Work in a trauma informed way and ensure we listen and understand each customer's individual story and what's important to them.
- A Level 2 diploma in Care or equivalent experience (or willing to study towards it).

The practical bits:
- Working on a rota across 7 days of the week, weekends will be shared equally across the team.
- Usual working hours are between 8am and 8pm for 7.5 hours a day.
- Although the service is community based, you will usually only support 2 - 3 customers per day.
- Travel and break time is planned into your shift time and you can claim expenses for your travel between customers.
- We have an office base in Middlesbrough as well as Stockton for colleagues to work from when not out on support.
- Although you'll often lone work to deliver the support, we do get together regularly for training and weekly team meetings.
- You need an Enhanced DBS with barring list (we pay).
- A vehicle insured for business use (and a license!), we’ll pay for any business mileage would be preferred for this role.
