Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join our team on a part time basis. You will work with our multi-disciplinary team to enable the individuals we support to reach their potential with a creative, individualised and holistic approach. This will involve working directly with support teams, in house clinicians and external agencies. This role is available on a part-time contract or on a self-employed consultancy basis. Salary negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support MDT to assess and identify speech, language and communication needs for the individuals we support.
  • Monitor and adapt support strategies as required.
  • Produce evidence-based reports on SALT requirements and progress on outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and training to colleagues to achieve more effective communication with individuals we support.
  • Engagement with families and external stakeholders as appropriate.

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Knowledge of communication needs associated with autism, learning disabilities, developmental trauma and acquired brain injury.
  • Ability to engage and work collaboratively with support teams.
  • Experience in delivery of training on 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Skilled in writing assessments and reports for sharing with external professionals.
  • Experience of working as part of a MDT.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Overtime paid within 24hrs for qualifying shifts.
