The Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be part of our client’s dedicated support team, providing essential care in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client. We have various hours available for both part-time/full-time positions, arranged in advance on a flexible two-week rota. You should be available to work on any day of the week, with day and evening shifts only.

About The Client & Your Responsibilities

Our client is a young woman in her 20s with Muscular Dystrophy. She lives at home with her family and has a passion for writing, poetry, and fanfiction. She also enjoys watching films and listening to music and audiobooks. You will play a key role in supporting her daily needs while ensuring her independence and privacy are respected.

Requirements

Training & Support

We provide comprehensive, paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date, covering:

  • Full induction
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • First Aid / Food Hygiene / Health & Safety
  • Physiotherapy / Moving & Handling (with hoist)
  • Ventilation / Cough Assist / Oral Suction / Nebuliser
  • Epilepsy Awareness / Congenital Muscular Dystrophy
  • Personal Care / Administration of Suppositories
  • Gastrostomy Care / PEG
  • Medication Administration

All training must be completed prior to start date and is paid at minimum wage.

  • This position is female-only, in accordance with The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1
  • Previous care experience is desirable but not essential as full training and shadowing will be provided
