The Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll be part of our client’s dedicated support team, providing essential care in their home. You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client. We have part-time hours available working 2 x 12-hour day shifts 7am-7pm per week on a 2-1 basis.

About the Client & Your Responsibilities

Our client is a male in his 20s who has autism and behaviours that challenge. He loves to be cosy in his fluffy pjs, snuggled on the sofa, watching a film. Support will be provided on a 2:1 basis both at home and in the community and will include assisting with personal care and day to day activities to help the client develop life skills and maintain independence.

Training & Support

We provide comprehensive, paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date, covering:

  • Full induction
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • Personal Care
  • Moving & Handling (hoist use)
  • Administration of medication
  • Behaviours that challenge / Positive Behaviour Support
  • Learning Disabilities / Epilepsy

All training must be completed prior to start date and is paid at minimum wage.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with behaviours that challenge, learning disabilities and knowledge of epilepsy is essential
  • Drivers with a full UK driving licence are preferred
  • Flexibility to cover shifts when needed
  • A compassionate, reliable, and committed individual
  • Commitment to long-term, person-centred care
