Job Introduction
We are looking for a Designer to join our Graphics team based at our Liverpool Head Office. In this role, you will develop designs and/or artwork for a specific category, ensuring they are on trend, visually appealing to our customers, and compliant with regulatory, licensing, and branding guidelines.
Job Overview
- Handle a range of design requests for the category and ensure all design and artwork is delivered on time to suppliers, signed off, and compliant with correct design and product standards (critical path).
- Develop sample artwork and prototypes for products and/or product packaging ready for review and sign-off.
- Develop and finalise artwork ready for production based on style guides, regulatory, and branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with product approval specialists, suppliers, and buyers to resolve design and packaging issues.
- Oversee the transition of final designs and/or artwork into production with our suppliers.
- Regularly review individual performance objectives and KPIs with your line manager and act on development areas.
- Conduct market research through competitive shopping, store visits, trade show attendance, and consumer trend analysis to develop style guides and support category planning.
- Stay updated on changes in product and packaging regulations to ensure compliance.
- Recommend and support process improvements across the Graphics function.
- Coach and support Junior Designers within the team and across the Graphics function.
- Work closely with the Design team for the category, category buying team, Product Approval Specialists, the wider Safety & Compliance team, and third-party suppliers.
Minimum Criteria To Apply
- Degree in design or equivalent experience.
- Experience of using Adobe Suite.
- Experience of working in a retail product design team.
- Demonstrated creative skills.
- Customer-focused and commercially astute.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholders and work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
