Working hours will be 35hrs per week: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4pm, Term time only plus 5 training days (30 mins unpaid lunch break).
An exciting opportunity has just arisen for a Science Technician. This is a permanent post and a wonderful opportunity for someone to join our friendly Science department. We are looking for a colleague to provide technical support to the science department and work under the charge of the Subject Leader for Science.
You will contribute to the student's learning experience by assisting with the preparation of materials and apparatus for practical work. This role will suit an experienced school technician or a recent graduate who may be interested in working in a school. You may be interested in becoming a science teacher and this role could provide an excellent stepping-stone between university and teacher training.
From September, we will begin our transition to becoming a secondary school. We will be moving our science department into a brand new purpose built unit housing 5 science labs and a large prep room. This will be a temporary provision whilst works on a brand new "Superblock" gets underway. The superblock will provide accommodation for 7 science labs, a prep room, 2 ICT suites and multiple classrooms, as well as a large assembly hall and separate activity studio together with specialist office spaces for our pastoral team.
This is an exciting time to be joining Holywell School and a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join the existing science team in developing our science provision.
