I'm working exclusively to recruit a highly experienced Procurement & Operations Director for a strategic leadership role with responsibility across procurement, supply chain, commercial delivery, operations and project execution ā with a focus on international markets and long-term growth.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a key role on the Senior Management Team, driving operational excellence and ensuring cross-functional performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams across procurement, supply chain, and project delivery
- Drive operational efficiency, profitability, and process improvement
- Manage relationships with suppliers, partners, and key clients internationally
- Oversee UK Export Finance (UKEF) / ECA applications and ensure compliance throughout
- Set and monitor KPIs, customer conversion metrics, and margin performance
- Lead on sourcing strategy, tenders, quotations, and pricing approvals
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless operations
- Represent the business at executive level with external stakeholders
- Support business expansion through occasional international travel
- Proven leadership experience at Director level within procurement, operations, or supply chain
- Experience working in at least one of the following industries - Oil & Gas, Mining or Infrastructure. Exposure across all would be desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen and a strategic, growth-focused mindset
- Effective communicator and stakeholder manager
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and mentor teams
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic, international environment
- Experience with UKEF or export finance processes is highly desirable
- Experience working on projects in Europe, Middle East and Africa is desirable.
