Contract Manager – Finance background

Our client is an international Procurement SME company, seeking an experienced Contracts/Project Manager with a background in Finance to join their team. This role will be responsible for managing complex contracts and projects from inception through to final delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Project Manager with strong international trade, export finance, and contract management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Project and Contract Management in the Infrastructure, Construction and Natural Resources sectors across Europe, Africa and Middle East
- Administering and Managing contracts throughout their full lifecycle, from award to completion
- Lead “cradle to grave” project and contract management across multiple stakeholders
- Prepare and submit applications to Export Credit Agencies, including loan guarantees
- Assess customer and supplier contracts to ensure commercial and technical alignment
- Support procurement activities as required
- Conduct due diligence on new customers and suppliers
- Ensure orders are technically and commercially compliant
- Produce regular status reports for senior management and customers
- Manage multiple deadlines across concurrent contracts
- Liaise with external parties including banks, ECAs, and UK Export Finance
- Work closely with internal project teams to place supplier orders once contracts are secured
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners
- Undertake additional tasks appropriate to the role
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project and contract management working internationally
- Experience or knowledge of working with European Export Credit Agencies and UK Export Finance
- Project experience working in Infrastucture, Construction, Mining or Oil&Gas sectors in UK, Europe, Africa and Middle East
- Strong understanding of international trade, including payment terms and Incoterms
- Ability to manage contracts and sub-contracts simultaneously across internal and external stakeholders
- Sound understanding of project finances from application stage through to final delivery
- Working knowledge of bonds and guarantees
- Experience expediting all areas related to a contract
- Ability to interpret Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
- Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- UK working rights essential
