Commercial Lead

Energy Infrastructure | EPC Contracts | London / Hybrid

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Lead to join a major international energy infrastructure project, taking responsibility for the commercial administration of a significant EPC contract.

The project involves the development of a major electricity interconnector, connecting energy networks across Europe. Having progressed from the design and development phase into construction, the project is now entering a critical stage of delivery.

This is a key commercial appointment, requiring an individual with strong EPC contract administration experience and a thorough understanding of FIDIC contract conditions. You will take a leading role in managing the contractual and commercial relationship with the EPC contractor, ensuring effective contract administration, commercial compliance and the management of contractual obligations throughout project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the day-to-day commercial administration of a major EPC contract on behalf of the client.
• Manage contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, conditions and project requirements.
• Oversee contractual correspondence, notices, variations, claims and change management.
• Monitor the commercial performance of the EPC contractor, identifying and managing contractual and commercial risks.
• Provide commercial guidance and advice on contractual matters, supporting effective decision-making and issue resolution.
• Work closely with project management, engineering and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between commercial requirements and project delivery.
• Manage contractual interfaces and support the resolution of commercial issues as they arise.
• Ensure appropriate commercial governance, reporting and contract administration processes are maintained throughout the project.

Experience and skills required:

• Significant experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager position within major infrastructure, energy or power projects.
• Strong experience administering EPC contracts is essential.
• FIDIC contract experience is essential, ideally including the Silver Book (EPC/Turnkey Projects).
• Experience managing the commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of contract administration, variations, claims, notices and commercial risk management.
• Confident managing relationships with EPC contractors and engaging with senior project stakeholders.
• Consultancy background preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• UK working rights essential.

Location & Package

• Location: London, hybrid working.
• Travel: Occasional visits to project sites in UK and Europe
