Our client is a Consulting Civil and Structural Engineering practice, led by dedicated Directors who believe in providing a professional and cost-effective design service to all clients across all sectors. An experienced Civil Engineering Team works on project sectors including manufacturing, residential, commercial, and leisure. Commitment to clients is further demonstrated by a continued hands-on Director approach, from project inception to handover, that clients enjoy.

They work across all construction stages, from pre-feasibility through conceptual stages to detailed design and delivery on the ground. Work includes:

  • Highway design
  • Junction design
  • Drainage analysis and design
  • Engagement in masterplan development
  • Feasibility and highway route studies
  • Preparation of surface water drainage strategies and flood risk assessments
  • Earthworks and levels design including cut/fill analysis
  • The pursuit of carbon neutral solutions and enhanced biodiversity
  • Creation of three-dimensional models and co-ordination across other design disciplines
  • Liaising with authorities to secure approval for the designs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of drainage design, levels design, detailing including drawing long sections, construction details, drainage area plans, kerbing plans, Section 104, Section 185, Section 38, and Section 278 Agreements.
  • Supporting the administration of projects, including maintaining records
  • Assisting with data review and analysis
  • Ensuring outputs are accurate and meet the required standards
  • Meeting agreed deadlines
  • Working as a member of a team
  • Contributing to providing solutions to problems
  • Knowledge of PDS and Flow beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications:

Civil Engineering Degree or suitable alternative.

Personal Requirements:

  • Show an aptitude towards software-based engineering and drawing e.g. Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other similar 3D software.
  • Demonstrate an interest in and a desire to pursue a career specifically within Civil Engineering.
  • Creative, practical, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan and organise parts of projects.
  • English language proficient, holding excellent communication skills to present information in speech, drawings, and reports.

Flexible working:

One day work from home and flexible working, core hours being between 10am and 4pm (latest 10am and work through a 7.5 hour day with an hour for lunch if required).
