Are you a highly skilled Stress Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical analysis, simulation, and problem-solving?
Were supporting a major engineering project in the Aerospace & Defence sector, based in Huddersfield, and looking for a Stress Engineer to join the team on a permanent or contract basis.
The role involves working with high-integrity mechanical systems such as gearboxes, power transmission components, and structural subassemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
– Perform detailed stress and structural analysis using FEA tools (ideally ANSYS)
– Support design teams with hand calculations and static load analysis
– Investigate structural failures and conduct root cause analysis
– Attend design reviews and present technical documentation
– Work collaboratively across the product lifecycle design, development, and customer support
– Ensure compliance with quality standards and technical specifications
What Youll Need:
– Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, HyperMesh)
– Ability to perform hand calculations for stress and structural integrity
– Experience with mechanical systems (ideally gears/gearboxes)
– A degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering
– Background in Aerospace, Defence, or Heavy Engineering
– UK Citizenship (due to project security clearance requirements)
