HGV Technician – PSV
Location: Southall
Earn £61,765 per annum - £28.28 an hour for 4 on 4 off Nights
Are you an experienced HGV Technician, PSV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic looking for an excellent nights role with a leading public transport operator?
We are recruiting for a skilled HGV Technician to join a modern engineering team maintaining a large fleet of PSV vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position offering a competitive salary, excellent shift pattern and long-term career progression.
The Role of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards. Working within a well-equipped workshop, you'll carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and inspections to minimise vehicle downtime.
Duties of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
- Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and inspections.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Completing MOT preparation and vehicle inspections.
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults quickly and accurately.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with DVSA and company standards.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.
What we’re looking for from the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, PSV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
