We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Forklift Engineer to join a well-established and growing material handling business to cover the North East. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to work with a wide range of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment while benefiting from a competitive package and excellent career progression opportunities.
The Role
As a Mobile Forklift Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a variety of forklift trucks and material handling equipment at customer sites. You will diagnose faults, carry out planned maintenance and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently. This is a field-based position covering a local territory in the North East, allowing you to build strong customer relationships while working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Attend breakdowns and provide timely repairs.
- Complete service documentation accurately.
- Maintain high levels of customer service.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
- Manage van stock and company equipment effectively.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault‑finding skills.
- Experience working independently in a field‑based role.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong customer‑facing and communication skills.
- Relevant engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
