Are you an experienced Plant Engineer, HGV Technician or Agricultural Engineer looking for your next challenge?
We're recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a busy and growing service team covering Muir of Ord and the surrounding areas.
This is a field-based role where you'll travel directly to customer sites, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of construction plant machinery.
Every day brings something different, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working independently.
The Role
- Service, maintain and repair construction plant machinery at customer sites.
- Attend machine breakdowns, diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Use electronic diagnostic equipment to identify electrical and mechanical faults.
- Complete digital job sheets, service reports and timesheets accurately.
- Order parts efficiently and liaise with the parts department to minimise equipment downtime.
- Work closely with the Service Supervisor to deliver exceptional customer support.
- Assist with the training and mentoring of apprentice engineers.
- Carry out workshop-based repairs when required.
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely and in line with manufacturer specifications and health & safety standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have
- A recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in:
- Construction Plant Maintenance
- Heavy Vehicle (HGV)
- Light Vehicle
- Agricultural Engineering
- Or a similar mechanical engineering discipline
- Experience working on construction plant, heavy equipment or similar machinery.
• Strong knowledge of
- Diesel engines
- Hydraulics
- Electrical systems
- Transmissions
- Electronic diagnostics and fault finding
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good IT skills for completing digital service documentation.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A full UK driving licence.
