We’re currently looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy engineering team in Waterloo. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of buses and coaches, ensuring they remain safe, reliable and ready for daily service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HGV Mechanic or Technician looking to apply their heavy vehicle skills within the passenger transport sector.
The Role of the HGV Technician
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing bus and coach vehicles
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out safety inspections and defect repairs
- Preparing vehicles for DVSA inspections and MOT testing
- Ensuring all work meets industry safety and compliance standards
- Working closely with the workshop team to maintain fleet availability
What you need as HGV Technician
- Experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, PSV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Engineer
- Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of vehicle safety inspections and maintenance standards
- A positive attitude and strong team ethic
