We are looking for aPCB DesignEngineertojoin a highly technical engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for PCB layout who wants to develop their skills and build a long-term career in high-quality board design.
You will work alongside experienced engineers on a varied range ofRF, digital,analogueand mixed-signal designs, gaining exposure to increasingly complex PCB technologies and applications.
The role will provide structured support and mentoring while giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your work and develop a strong understanding of professional PCB design processes.
Applicants for this role must hold, or be eligible to hold, UK SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to PCB design activities from component library creation and maintenance through to layout, documentation and release.
- Translate electronic schematics into structured, manufacturable PCB layouts.
- Develop your understanding of component placement, routing, design rules and manufacturing outputs.
- Carry out detailed checking to ensure designs, documentation and release packages are accurate and complete.
- Support design reviews by preparing materials, recording actions and implementing feedback.
- Develop practical experience across RF, digital, analogue and power PCB design.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers on board integration, packaging constraints and design trade-offs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- As your experience develops, contribute to delivery tracking, process improvements, supplier discussions and PCB technology assessments.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Experience in PCB design, electronics design support or a closely related role.
- A genuine interest in electronics, PCB layout and developing high-quality, manufacturable designs.
- Some experience using PCB design software; Altium experience would be advantageous.
- A basic understanding of component placement, routing, design rules and manufacturing outputs.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking your work.
- The ability to take feedback positively and develop quickly.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- A proactive, reliable and hands-on approach to your work.
Qualifications
An HNC, HND, degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience in electronics, PCB design or a related discipline would be beneficial. Most importantly, you should have the curiosity, enthusiasm and ambition to develop a career in PCB design and enjoy working on technically interesting engineering challenges.
