An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Datacenter Engineer to support the build, maintenance, and operational management of cutting-edge test and development lab environments.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Linux and Windows system administration, networking, and virtualization, who enjoys working hands-on with hardware and infrastructure in a highly technical environment.
Youll be part of a team delivering reliable, compliant, and operational labs that support developers, test teams, and external customers across mobility, satellite, and wireless communication sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
– Install and configure hardware (servers, switches, routers, PDUs), rack and run cables
– Run, label, and dress cabling for interconnected systems
– Linux and Windows system administration, including patching and security
– Maintain virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, etc.)
– Implement network monitoring, management, and security protocols
– Create and maintain diagrams, documentation, and operational guides
– Troubleshoot technical issues, providing support to teams and customers
– Identify opportunities for automation and develop supporting scripts/tools
What Were Looking For:
– Experience supporting enterprise datacenter environments
– Strong background in Linux and Windows system administration
– Knowledge of networking protocols, routing, ports, and firewalls
– Experience with virtualization platforms and supporting hardware (Dell/HP servers, NetApp storage, etc.)
– Hands-on ability to run and terminate cables in a lab environment
– Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills
– Ability to work collaboratively across technical and geographically distributed teams
Desirable Skills:
– Technical degree in Engineering, Computing, Networking, or similar
– Certifications (Linux+, Network+, Cisco, Juniper, AWS)
– Satellite or wireless communications experience
– Familiarity with avionics systems and cabling standards
– Scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, REST)
– Experience with automation and containerization tools (Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Docker)
This is a hybrid role with regular on-site work required and occasional international travel.
