The opportunity on offer for the HGV Auto Electrician involves joining a major UK bus and transport operator whose engineering teams are at the forefront of modern vehicle technology. With continued investment in new and electric vehicles, modern workshops, and engineer development, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PSV/HGV Auto Electrician looking for long-term stability and progression. You’ll be joining a skilled and energetic engineering team, maintaining a large and varied fleet while developing your expertise on state-of-the-art electric and hybrid vehicles. Full PPE, tools, training, and a clear career pathway are provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose vehicle electrical faults and determine the correct repair methods and parts
  • Carry out servicing, inspections, and routine vehicle examinations to DVSA standards
  • Overhaul and repair complex electrical systems including engine management and ECUs
  • Work on electronic braking, suspension, destination equipment, and multiplex wiring systems
  • Attend on-road breakdowns and carry out vehicle recovery and road testing where required
  • Use diagnostic equipment including ECU software, multimeters, and other electrical testing tools

Key Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering
