About Us: We are a leading operator providing essential services across the transportation industry. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Shunter to join our dynamic team and help ensure the smooth and efficient movement of vehicles within our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently shunt vehicles, including buses and coaches, around the yard and depot areas.
- Assist in the preparation of vehicles for service, including positioning and fueling.
- Perform daily checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition before moving them.
- Maintain a high level of safety, following all company procedures and regulations when operating within the yard.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet operational needs.
- Report any defects or safety concerns to the Yard Supervisor or Manager promptly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a shunter or similar yard-based role (preferred, but not essential).
- Full, clean UK driving license.
- HGV or PSV huge advantage.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations within a yard or transport environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
