We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and professional Class 2 HGV Driver to join a well-established business operating within the plant, agricultural, construction and machinery sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-conscious driver who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and delivering excellent customer service across a varied customer base including farms, depots and commercial sites.
The Role
As a Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe delivery and collection of agricultural and plant machinery, ensuring all transport activities are completed efficiently, professionally and in line with compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery and collection of agricultural, plant and construction equipment
- Loading, securing and unloading machinery safely using appropriate restraints and load security methods
- Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Ensuring compliance with Driver CPC, tachograph and drivers’ hours regulations
- Completing delivery paperwork and transport documentation accurately
- Liaising with customers and depot teams professionally
- Maintaining vehicles and trailers in a clean and roadworthy condition
- Supporting yard operations when required
- Working safely on farms, customer sites and rural locations
- Occasional weekend work during busy seasonal periods
Requirements
- Full UK Class 2 HGV Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience transporting agricultural, plant or construction equipment preferred
- Good understanding of load securing and safe transport procedures
- Comfortable working on rural roads and farm environments
- Reliable, organised and professional approach
- Strong communication skills
- Forklift, telehandler or machinery operating experience beneficial but not essential
