Mobile Plant Fitter Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + enhanced overtime rates Location: Remote Contract: Full-time, Permanent Industry: Plant, Agricultural & Heavy Machinery Engineering A leading machinery distributor is seeking a skilled and adaptable Mobile Plant Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic or engineer who wants a varied and autonomous role with strong earning potential. Key Responsibilities Responding to machinery breakdowns across the region, with limited scheduled servicing Diagnosing faults in engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and AdBlue systems Using laptops and diagnostic software for troubleshooting Reading and interpreting schematic diagrams Travelling to the depot for larger workshop repairs or parts collection when required Working independently with a high level of responsibility and customer interactionRequirements Strong mechanical or engineering background with relevant qualifications Proven diagnostic and fault-finding experience across multiple systems Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively Willingness to travel across the Highlands region Confident in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical documentation Open to candidates from a range of engineering sectors, including automotive, plant, or agriculturalWorking Hours and Pay Contracted hours: 40 per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a 3:30pm finish on Fridays) Typical hours: Between 7:00am–5:00pm with regular overtime Overtime paid at 1.5x, and double time after 4 hours worked in a single day Occasional Saturday mornings paid at 1.5x On-target earnings: £55,000+ Company van provided, including private useBenefits Paid travel from home Company vehicle with private use Generous overtime structure Independent working across a diverse and scenic region Supportive environment with depot access when required If you would like more information about this Mobile Plant Fitter role, or if you’re exploring your next career move, please contact Harry at Holt Recruitment.
