Are you an experienced Fleet Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager or Senior Workshop Manager looking for your next challenge? We are currently recruiting for a Fleet Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations across two busy PSV / bus depots in South Scotland. This is a senior management position offering the opportunity to lead engineering teams, improve fleet performance and play a key role in maintaining a safe, reliable and cost-effective operation.
The Role of the Engineering Manager / Fleet Engineer / Fleet Engineering Manager / Workshop Manager:
- Reporting to the Senior Engineering Management Team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering performance of the depots, ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standards.
- Leading and developing engineering and workshop teams across multiple sites.
- Ensuring high standards of fleet safety, reliability, availability and presentation.
- Managing preventative maintenance, servicing and repair programmes.
- Ensuring compliance with DVSA, statutory and legislative requirements.
- Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Monitoring engineering performance, costs and operational efficiency.
- Identifying opportunities to improve fleet reliability and workshop performance.
- Working closely with operational and senior management teams.
- Managing resources and budgets effectively.
What you’ll need as Engineering Manager / Fleet Engineer / Fleet Engineering Manager / Workshop Manager:
- We are looking for an experienced fleet engineering professional with a strong background in bus, PSV, HGV, commercial vehicle or similar fleet maintenance.
- Proven experience managing a fleet engineering or workshop operation.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles and fleet maintenance.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing engineering teams.
- A strong understanding of preventative maintenance and fleet reliability.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety, environmental and employment legislation.
- Excellent communication and people-management skills.
- The ability to work effectively across multiple sites and at all levels of an organisation.
