Overview for the LCV Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Skilled or Semi-Skilled LCV Technician to join our team, working on a variety of light commercial vehicles including vans, minibuses, and fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair, with either full qualifications or hands-on experience in a workshop environment.
What the LCV Technician will do:
- Replace or repair tyres, exhaust systems, clutches, brake pads, and other worn parts
- Conduct pre-MOT checks and prepare vehicles for MOT tests
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance on LCVs in line with manufacturer and industry standards
- Assist skilled technicians with more complex repairs and diagnostics where required
- Always adhere to workshop health and safety procedures and best practices
Key skills and requirements of the LCV Technician:
- Previous experience working on light commercial vehicles (essential)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance ort time served
- Basic diagnostic knowledge and ability to use relevant tools and software
- Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge (especially for semi-skilled candidates)
